Booked for Lunch to discuss “The Dictionary of Lost Words”

Manchester — BOLTON – The Booked for Lunch book discussion group will meet from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the Bentley Memorial Library, 206 Bolton Center Road.

The discussion group will meet inside the library. Bring a bagged lunch to enjoy and discuss “The Dictionary of Lost Words.” Complimentary dessert will be served.

Manchester Library presents self-defense basics, book club

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Public Library, 586 Main St., is hosting the following programs. Call 860-645-0821 for more information.

Self Defense Basics With The Academy of Martial Arts and Personal Development will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22.

Their seminar focuses on five main target areas to use when physical defense becomes necessary. Registration is required for this free event for adults by calling 860-645-0821.

The Not So “YA” Book Club featuring September Girls by Bennett Madison will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Whiton Branch, 100 North Main St. Copies of the book are available at both library buildings. This is a free book discussion program and no registration is required.
